Artistic License used here...

As many of you probably know, I work for a sleepover camp during the bulk of the year. Using the word "work" loosely, of course. ( Is decorating cakes in your boss's kitchen, considered work? Eh, lets say yes, just for the fun of it.) Anyhow, my work that I do is very theoretical- I just see a bunch of names, and information, without the full picture. The fun part is when I do get to see the full picture....we just had the honor of spending the weekend in Camp Raninu. Its so weird seeing all those names come to life! Of course, as usual, I do not show up empty handed. So here is what we brought when we came:
(Very loosely based upon an aerial view of Camp Raninu)

So anyone who went to Camp Raninu recognized anything?

Cupcakes and a solemn story

Hey guys. Sorry if I'm not my usual chipper self today. I had an incident today which involved the front of my car kissing the back of another car.Which happened to occur on the most traveled upon highway on July 17th in the entire state of New York.  Which happened to involve a brand spankin' new beautiful Nissan Altima. Which happened to belong to a retired cop. Who happens to be with the DA. Who happened to be a Yankee fan. (He had a NY Yankees tat on his bulging bicep, that's how I know.) Who my son thought would haul me away to jail. Which thank goodness he did not do.
Anyways, that's why I am not so chipper.
So very solemnly I share with you a picture:

Just some cupcakes I made a few weeks ago.
Anyhow, I thought it would be therapeutic to turn this hugely embarrassing story for me into a good laugh for you.
Hope you guys have a better day today than I did yesterday! Which actually wouldn't be saying much. Well, I guess what I am trying to say is:
Have a nice day!

Stuffed Cookies and More!

Looks good? I think so!  And that's why you should make sure you are at your local Ami Magazine dealer bright and early tomorrow morning! Recently I have begun to work with Whisk from the Ami Magazine in putting together some yummily awesome recipes, and these are the first! So spread the word and grab a copy (well, please pay for it first!) and enjoy. More to come soon!

And if you're are still hungry......now in the Joy of Kosher
Caramel Peach Pie Ala Mode Bites....with a crunch.

Man, was this good ever. Humble much? Apparently not But it was definitely a danger to have in the fridge-wicked good.

Enjoy!

PW's Cinnamon Buns

Any self-respecting Cinnamon Bun Expert will tell you that the whole reason why Cinnamon Buns exist is for the little twirl in the middle. All the cinnamony, gooey, doughiness all twirled up smack in the middle
Everything else is just a means to an end. The rest of the cinnamon bun is there just to hold up that little twirl, keeping it safe, just for you!
Ok fine, if you like the outside of the bun, I won't tell anyone. Because it does taste pretty good too.
But you know what the really best part of the Cinnamon Bun is?
The true sign of a successful Cinnamon Bun....a sticky bottom.
And lets leave it at that.

Ok, so you want to make some Cinnamon Buns? The Pioneer Woman is the absolute queen of Cinnamon Buns. I am not going to type out the whole recipe, since you can go ahead and click this link, and get the full scoop there. Have fun!
By the way, her recipe makes tons and tons of cinnamon buns. If you are planning on eating these all by yourself, and don't want to have to eat through seven pans of cinnamon buns, this recipe is very similar, just as good (and 134,647 people also think its good!) and makes half the amount. I use the filling recipe from the Allrecipes recipe in the Pioneer Woman's dough recipe instead of hers.
Also, if you are tragically not a cinnamon lover, then these work great with chocolate too! Just mix 1 cup brown sugar, with 2 tablespoons cocoa, and you got yourself some delicious chocolate buns.

Rainbows!

Not sure if you guys realized by now, but I do not have any girls. No little daughters to dress up in pink and purple with bows, headbands and pigtails. No little girls to paint their toenails, and let them parade around with my old purses and heels. Thats why I have such a fun time making girls cakes. And I always look forward to making my friend's daughters cake- Daniella's. She is such a girly girl, its so much fun going through cakes for her to pick out. This year, my instructions were flowers and rainbows. And here it is:

The batter always cracks me up:
And the the real rainbow:

Happy July 4th Everyone!
